Routing approach in CarTALK 2000 project

چکیده
The CarTALK 2000 project [1] aims at the development of new driver assistance systems that are based upon intervehicle communication. To this purpose, a mobile ad hoc network (MANET) consisting of vehicles will be developed as the communication platform to support cooperative driver assistance applications. Routing in such a vehicular MANET faces a number of new challenges, in particular due to the extremely dynamic network topology and a large variable number of mobile nodes. Therefore, an efficient and scalable ad hoc routing mechanism is crucial for the performance of the CarTALK 2000 communication system. After analyzing the system characteristics and requirements, this paper introduces a spatially aware routing protocol and a distributed location service. The key of Spatially Aware Routing is to improve position-based routing performance by integrating spatial environment information into routing, such as the underlying road topology.

متن کاملInvestigating Performance of Routing Protocols for TCP Transmissions in AdHoc Wireless Networks
In this project, we investigate the performance of routing protocols employed for data transmission using real life protocols like “TCP/IP” in wireless adhoc networks. We come up with simple metrics to measure the efficiency of routing protocols. We study the behavior of TCP on multiple wireless hops and suggest design guidelines for increasing the “overall efficiency” of a routing protocol. We...
متن کاملBroadcast Routing in Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks: A Particle Swarm optimization Approach
While routing in multi-hop packet radio networks (static Ad-hoc wireless networks), it is crucial to minimize power consumption since nodes are powered by batteries of limited capacity and it is expensive to recharge the device. This paper studies the problem of broadcast routing in radio networks. Given a network with an identified source node, any broadcast routing is considered as a directed...

Stochastic Approach to Vehicle Routing Problem: Development and Theories Abstract In this article, a chance constrained (CCP) formulation of the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is proposed. The reality is that once we convert some special form of probabilistic constraint into their equivalent deterministic form then a nonlinear constraint generates. Knowing that reliable computer software...

periodic vehicle routing problem focuses on establishing a plan of visits to clients over a given time horizon so as to satisfy some service level while optimizing the routes used in each time period. This paper presents a new effective heuristic algorithm based on data mining tools for periodic vehicle routing problem (PVRP). The related results of proposed algorithm are compared with the resu...
